A new clothes brand is helping sea swimmers hold onto that post-dip feeling a little longer in Dorset.

Salty & Sane, launched earlier this month on April 2, offers a range of organic cotton hoodies and sweatshirts designed by and for sea swimmers to capture the mental and physical afterglow of cold water immersion.

Founder Katy Palmer said: "Sea swimming has a way of grounding you, whatever’s going on.

"It brings you back to yourself.

"It’s one of those ‘if you know, you know’ things.

"But I couldn’t find anything to wear afterwards that matched that.

"That moment where the cold gives way to warmth.

"That’s where Salty & Sane came from."

The brand’s debut collection features heavyweight 350gsm organic cotton clothing intended to be worn immediately after a swim.

The pieces are screen printed in the UK and carry the label’s Afterglow Club logo.

A recent survey by leisure operator Better found 89 per cent of UK adults feel positive benefits from swimming and being near water, reinforcing what swimmers have long known.

The clothing is designed to help preserve that sense of calm and wellbeing long after leaving the water.

It is available in two colours: Earth Red, inspired by sunrise swims, and Stargazer Blue, reflecting the calm of the sea.

Katy said: "I wear mine most days now.

"It lifts my mood and reminds me what I’m capable of.

"It feels like a badge of honour.

"Carrying that strength with you, even when you’re long out of the water."

Salty & Sane aims to recognise the commitment and resilience involved in sea swimming, especially on colder, less inviting days.

The brand encourages swimmers to honour that effort and carry it with them throughout the day, starting with what they put on after drying off.

Pre-orders for the debut collection are open until April 16, and can be placed through the brand’s website.

All items are designed for comfort, warmth, and to serve as a reminder of the mental clarity and perspective that sea swimming can bring.
