A major milestone is being marked with an all-singing, all-dancing celebration.

Steppin’ Out Academy of Performance, based in Poole, is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a brand-new show titled The Last Note, featuring more than 100 performers aged three to 18.

The production will take place at Lighthouse Poole on 2 April.

The show also marks a farewell for some students who are moving on to prestigious performing arts colleges such as Laine Theatre Arts, Urdang, and the Guildford School of Acting.

Angela Taylor, principal and founder of Steppin’ Out, said: "I’m incredibly proud of how far Steppin’ Out has come over the last 35 years and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to showcase the talent of the next generation of stars.

"We always aim to deliver West End-worthy productions to not only give our students a real taste for the theatre but to also thoroughly entertain our audiences.

"From Dance World Cup winning dance soloists and groups to singers and actors being scouted by top colleges in this country and abroad, I can promise you will be dazzled by the talent on show."

Ms Taylor established Steppin’ Out in 1991 after a successful international dance career, starting out in a small hall in Hamworthy.

Since then, the academy has grown into one of Dorset’s leading performing arts schools, with state-of-the-art facilities and students who have achieved success on the global stage.

The Last Note is set in the exciting world of a television quiz show.

The family-friendly show blends music, dance, and drama in a glittering, high-energy performance.

It features 18-year-olds Amy Williams and Alfie Fitzpatrick in leading roles as contestants Michelle and Jimmy, with both set to begin their training at Laine Theatre Arts.

They are joined by Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists Austin Redwood and Tyler Vandevelde.

Summer Woodifield and Gracie Ross play the quiz show host and the floor manager, while other cast members include Elle McGregor-Clark, Brooke Johnson, and Amelia Young.
