AN arrest was made and items were seized after a police pursuit ended with the driver and passengers fleeing from the vehicle.

In the evening of March 11, North Dorset Police reported that a car was seized following a pursuit in the Shaftesbury and Gillingham area.

It was stated that teams from the above areas, as well as Sturminster Newton, attended and an individual was detained.

Upon searching the individual, class A and B drugs were located alongside knuckle dusters and 'other suspected stolen items'- leading to their arrest.

A spokesperson for North Dorset Police said: "Following a pursuit in the Shaftesbury/Gillingham area a motor vehicle was seized after the driver and passengers made off on foot.

"Neighbourhood teams from Sturminster Newton NPT, Gillingham NPT and Shaftesbury NPT attended and a person was detained and searched shortly after.

"A number of items were located on them including a set of knuckle dusters, class A and class B drugs, and other suspected stolen items and the person arrested for this, and other suspected motoring offences.
