Bournemouth War Memorial Homes (BWMH) is set to have a permanently lit Christmas tree.
For years, BWMH had a Christmas tree provided by the council, which people greatly missed in recent years.
This year, Bournemouth residents, including Trevor and Janice Upshall, led a fundraising initiative after their plans to buy a tree and lights grew.
Greendale Construction, currently building four new properties at BWMH for veterans in need, made possible through a £500,000 donation from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust, installed a temporary power supply for this year's tree.
The tree was bought from Mannington Heath Farm Christmas Trees at a significantly reduced cost.
Poole BID and others made donations to help the cause.
These funds were enough for the memorial homes to purchase a permanent tree.
The tree will be planted on the grounds in the New Year.
Greendale Construction Ltd has also committed to installing a permanent electrical supply for the new tree at their own expense, with Callan Civil Engineering Ltd donating their labour to complete the required groundworks.
"Thanks to the generosity of these individuals and companies, BWMH will once again have a permanently lit Christmas tree for the community to enjoy for years to come."
