A MAN was caught with nearly 500 indecent images of children, a court heard.

Andrew Alderman, 60 and of Pine Crescent in Christchurch, admitted to making indecent photos or pseudo photos of a child over five years.

He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court for sentence on September 9.

It was said that between June 4, 2018 and June 12, 2023, Alderman had 491 category C photos of children.

Alderman was handed a community order for two years.

He must complete 40 days of rehabilitation activity, fined £300 and his laptop, data stick, mobile phone and camera were confiscated.

Alderman will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £120.
