BEACHGOERS are advised not to enter the water amid 'extremely dangerous' conditions after the Coastguard dealt with multiple incidents.

Poole Coastguard Rescue Team said it has been dealing with multiple incidents since 11.15 pm on Monday, August 25.

The rescue team has said in its operation areas there are currently multiple emergency service crews involved in several incidents along the coast, including Coastguard Rescue Teams, HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopters, RNLI Lifeboats and RNLI Lifeguards East Dorset RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset.

The Coastguard is advising people because of “extremely dangerous conditions in the water”, they should not enter the water unless “absolutely necessary”.

Posting on Facebook, the team has said: “We are advising people due to the extremely dangerous conditions in the water at the moment, especially on the beaches with extremely high tides, swells and breaking waves with excessive force and movement.

“Please do not enter the water unless absolutely necessary, if you do, please for your and your family's safety, only at lifeguarded beaches, between the red and yellow flags and follow the Lifeguards or HM Coastguards on scene instructions.”

Poole Coastguard is also advising people onboard a paddle board or watercraft/vessel to wear a lifejacket for their safety.

The team further added: “If you are onboard a paddle board or watercraft/vessel, please ensure you are wearing a life jacket or buoyancy aid, someone is aware that you are out there especially if you are alone, do they know your estimated time of return?,

“Do you have the appropriate clothing on and have with you a means of signalling or calling for help?”
