CHRISTCHURCH Quomps splash park has been temporarily closed due to safety concerns.

The popular splash park has been closed by operator Christchurch Town Council during the summer half term holiday when children are off school.

It’s not clear what has been discovered, but the town council saif public safety must come first.

A spokesman from the town council said: “We regret that it has been necessary to temporarily close the Quomps splash park and adjacent play park due to a safety-related issue identified during a recent review of the site.

“Christchurch Town Council is working urgently to address the matter and ensure that all necessary safety measures are in place before the facilities can reopen. This action has been taken to protect the wellbeing of all users.

“We understand that this closure comes at an especially difficult time during the school half-term holidays and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, however, public safety must always come first.

“We will provide further updates as soon as we are able to confirm a safe reopening and thank you for your patience and understanding.”
