POLICE caught a young driver ‘swerving and throwing a cigarette out the window’ while travelling back from a road safety meeting.
Road casualty reduction officers from Dorset Police delivered road safety education to a group of 15- to 18-year-olds in Christchurch on October 14.
Officers shared in a social media post that young drivers have a higher risk of crashing due to their youth and inexperience.
The combination can prove fatal while on the roads.
However, while traveling back to the police station officers spotted a Honda Jazz swerving across the road.
The driver was seen to throw a cigarette out of the window and was subsequently stopped by police.
While being spoken to by officers, the driver admitted to having no insurance and his vehicle was seized.
Dorset traffic cops said in a post: “Last night our road casualty reduction officers delivered road safety education to a group of 15-18 year olds in Christchurch.
