AFTER revealing its opening date, a highly anticipated town centre restaurant held a surprise pop-up on Bournemouth beachfront.
The newest addition to Bournemouth's food scene, The Ivy Collection, has announced it will be welcoming diners through its doors from Tuesday, November 12.
On Tuesday, October 15, passers-by were treated to performances by the vintage vocal harmony trio The Bluebird Belles.
In sailor suits, they added a touch of glamour to the promenade and sang songs from across the decades.
The Ivy Collection unveiled a five-foot-tall, hand-crafted mermaid sand sculpture by Bournemouth Pier to celebrate the opening of reservation lines for the new Brasserie.
Speaking on the pop-up, general manager Barnaby Harris-Reid said: "Today has been a brilliant opportunity for the team at The Ivy Bournemouth Brasserie to really feel part of the community and give locals a flavour of the service and indulgence they can expect from our exquisite new restaurant."
Barnaby brings extensive experience as a general manager, having previously run Ivy restaurants in Winchester and Chichester, but he said no opening is ever the same.
The Ivy's waiters were also on hand to greet visitors with warm coffee, fizz, and vouchers for a complimentary glass of champagne.
Barnaby said: "We are so excited to be welcoming guests in just over a month and reveal our stunning brasserie to the Bournemouth community."
The new opening will be The Ivy Collection's 42nd restaurant, and the Brasserie promises to bring its "signature blend of high-quality food, exceptional service, and an all-day dining experience that locals and visitors alike will cherish."
The Ivy Bournemouth Brasserie will contribute to the local community by creating 120 jobs.
A spokesperson for The Ivy said the company is currently looking for individuals to join the team.
Barnaby added: "I think The Ivy will bring more life into the town.
"We heavily rely on footfall, so we need to be in a town centre location, but I think people will come into Bournemouth to give us a try."
