A CO-OP convenience shop will close next month and re-open as a new business.
Wholesaler Nisa is buying Co-op's store in Cranleigh Road, Southbourne and reopening it after November 23.
Nisa branded stores are independently owned and operated and, in this case, the food on sale will remain that of the Co-op's.
Meanwhile, existing employees at Co-op in Cranleigh Road will be offered job transfers to the new Nisa.
A spokesman for Co-op, said: “We can confirm that our Cranleigh Road, Southbourne store is being sold to an independent Nisa retailer, and we are pleased that all of the Co-op colleagues will be able to transfer to the new operator.
“The store will continue to sell the quality Co-op branded products that shoppers know and trust, and nearby Co-op stores include those in Seabourne Road, Southbourne and Fairmile Road, Christchurch.”
Staff will be transferred to the new operator under TUPE regulations - Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Rights.
Plans to the relaunch are being finalised and so an opening date is unknown.
