CANDIDATES for a Bournemouth by-election have been announced by BCP Council.
A by-election for the Muscliff and Strouden Park ward will be held on Thursday, October 24 following the death of a councillor.
The candidates are Richard John Blackwell-Whitehead (Lib Deb), Julie-Anne Houldey (independent), Eyyup Kilinc (Labour) Roger Julian Lawton Mann (Green), Conor Nial O’Luby (independent), Peter Anthony Rogers (independent) and Toby Edward George Slade (Conservatives).
Cllr Brian George Castle, who was one of three ward councillors, died in August following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was first elected as a BCP councillor in the May 2023 elections, alongside ward colleagues Kieron Wilson and Lisa Northover.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration officer by 12am on Tuesday, October 8.
