EMERGENCY services rushed to Poole Park after concerns for the welfare of a woman in the water was raised.
Police attended the park along with the fire and ambulance service at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 25.
A nearby resident was walking their dog when they saw police cars arrive next to The Ark before two fire engines and an ambulance arrived.
They witnessed the fire crew inflate a dinghy and approach the woman in the water.
Police confirmed that the woman was brought to safety at around 5pm and was given appropriate care.
A spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 4.24pm on Wednesday 25 September 2024 raising concern for the welfare of a woman in the water at Poole Park.
“Officers attended with the fire and ambulance services.
“The woman was brought to safety at around 5pm and taken to receive the appropriate care.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 4.31pm on Wednesday 25 September to Poole Park with reports of a female in the water.
"Three crews including a technical team from Poole, and crews from Westbourne and Christchurch attended.
"The individual was rescued and left in the care of the ambulance crews. Our stop was at 5.03pm."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 16:34hrs on Wednesday 25 September to an incident in Poole.
"We sent one double-crewed ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital."
