A BY-ELECTION will be held next month following the death of a serving councillor.
Cllr Brian George Castle, who was one of three ward councillors for the Muscliff and Strouden Park area, died last month following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was first elected as a BCP councillor in the May 2023 elections, alongside ward colleagues Kieron Wilson and Lisa Northover.
Now BCP Council has called a by-election for the one seat in the ward in Bournemouth, with residents going to the polls on Thursday, October 24.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration officer by 12am on Tuesday, October 8.
Candidates will be formally announced by BCP Council once the deadline of September 27 for nominations is up.
Cllr Castle was first elected to BCP Council in May 2023 when he won 1,058 votes, knocking long-standing Conservative councillor Derek Borthwick out of a seat.
