TEMPORARY traffic lights have been installed after reports of a ‘gas escape’ in Ferndown.
Christchurch Road in Longham is currently experiencing traffic after temporary traffic lights were installed this morning (September 24).
The road is also undergoing weeks-long utility repair and maintenance works that are set to be completed on September 30.
Bradley Barlow, spokesperson for gas distribution company SGN said: “We're currently investigating reports of a gas escape on Christchurch Road, Longham.
“For everyone's safety around our work area, we've installed temporary two-way traffic lights.
“This work shouldn't impact our other work in the area.”
The cause of the gas escape is currently under investigation.
The emergency gas works are scheduled on end on October 2.
The Daily Echo has contacted Dorset Council for more details.
The A31 will also see slight delays of under ten minutes on the Lake Gates Roundabout where temporary traffic lights will also be installed for maintenance work.
The temporary traffic lights will be in place for motorists from October 7 until October 11.
