AN EMERGENCY response swarmed an abandoned multi storey car park in Poole.
Armed police officers, firefighters and the Southwestern Ambulance service attended the incident on Municipal Road after a concern for welfare call.
Armed officers were seen scaling the building while police cordoned off the area.
The incident occurred on September 23 at around 10am.
A spokesperson for DWFRS said: “We were called to a commercial premises on Sandbanks Road, Poole at 10:46am today to assist the ambulance service.
“We currently have one fire engine from Westbourne and the technical rescue crews from Poole in attendance.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 10.15am on Monday 23 September 2024 raising concern for the welfare of a man on the roof of a multi-story car park in the area of Park Road in Poole.
"Officers have attended and are making efforts to engage with the man. The fire service has also attended and a cordon has been put in place as a precaution.
"We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while we respond to this incident."
Dorset Police has now confirmed that the man was taken to safety shortly after 2pm and was given appropriate care.
