PICNIC Park Deli’s annual winter installation in the Lower Gardens is set to return later this year.
A planning application has been submitted to BCP Council asking for permission to install three temporary tents in Bournemouth town centre between November 1 and January 2.
The cafe's Picnic on the Piste last winter offered s’mores, hot chocolates, festive toasties and Kinder doughnut balls.
The organisers said in documents to the council that the installation’s purpose is to “enhance the festive experience for residents and visitors, contributing to the local economy and community spirit”.
They added: “It will create a festive atmosphere, contributing to the cultural and social vibrancy of Bournemouth.
“It is considered for the reasons set out above that the proposal will not harm the significance of the listed gardens or adjacent Pavilion Theatre.
“This project aligns with the broader objectives of enhancing public spaces and fostering community spirit, ensuring that the gardens continue to be enjoyed by future generations.”
Owner Adam Richardson set up the site eight and a half years ago with best friend, Marta, growing from a kiosk with a few tables to a ‘whole village’.
A decision on the application will be made by BCP Council at a later date.
