A PROFESSIONAL grappling event comes to Poole Lighthouse on Saturday, September 7.
Polaris is a highly regarded professional grappling competition dubbed one of the “most prestigious invitation-only grappling promotions in the world”.
Polaris events feature UFC legends competing in high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu matches.
Polaris events showcase top-level grappling matches, exclusively available on UFC Fight Pass.
These high-profile events attract elite fighters from around the world.
To date, Polaris has featured a range of renowned stars in the sport, including Mica Galvao, Urijah Faber and Demian Maia among others.
Polaris was co-founded by entrepreneurs Matthew Benyon and Ben Tong who both have roots in the Bournemouth and Poole areas.
Ben said: "I'm thrilled to bring Polaris back to Poole. Every time we've held an event here, it has been incredible. It's exciting to showcase some of the world’s top talent in our hometown. This Saturday night promises to be an epic homecoming and a fantastic experience for all the sport’s fans."
Recently, the team welcomed businessman, event organiser and podcaster Ty Temel.
Ty said: “I’m known for utilising my business acumen in ‘passion projects’ and this exciting brand Polaris completely aligns with that vision. I have been practising BJJ myself for several years and have recently joined forces with Polaris and to assist in developing the international growth of the brand.”
