AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a mother of four who was found unresponsive in her home.
Jayne Marie Purkiss, 39, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene after being found by her son.
Senior coroner for Dorset, Rachael Griffin, opened the inquest into her death on September 3.
Coroner’s officer, Laura Thorne, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Jayne was born on August 6, 1985 in Weston-Super-Mare.
At the time of her death she was single and unemployed, living at an address in Poole.
On June 19 Jayne was found unresponsive at her home and was pronounced deceased by emergency services.
A postmortem examination conducted on June 24 by Dr Blahurt found her provisional cause of death to be from an overdose.
Ms Griffin adjourned the full inquest into her death until January 24, 2025 at 10am.
Jayne’s sister created a Go Fund Me to support her four sons and has so far raised £3,300.
It read: “On the 19/6/24 our beautiful sister Jayne Marie Purkiss sadly passed away.
“Jayne leaves behind her four precious boys, Jack, Lewis, Ben and Harry.
“Anyone who knew Jayne knew the love and pride that she had for her boys.
“As you can imagine they are, as we all are in complete shock and utterly devastated, left only with the memories of a mum, daughter, sister and auntie.
“As a family we have decided to set up a GoFundMe page for anyone that would like to donate to support the boys moving forward at this difficult time.
“Many thanks in anticipation, Jayne's family.”
