DORSET Police have released an image of a man they want to identify in relation to the theft of £250.
The money was stolen from a man in the car park of the Tesco store in Christy's Lane, Shaftesbury, on July 3 at around 5pm.
The 'vulnerable' man was approached by another man in the car park who asked to borrow cash to cover vehicle repairs of the victim's car.
Confused, the victim withdrew £250 from a cash machine at the Tesco store before he later made enquiries with his garage who confirmed no money was owed and the perpetrator was not connected or involved with the garage
Police Community Support Investigator Lindy Wilson, of Dorset Police, said: “This incident involved the targeting and deception of a vulnerable individual and we are carrying out enquiries to identify the man involved.
“I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man we would like to identify as part of our investigation and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
