A MAN has been accused of recklessly endangering life after a cafe was set on fire in Bournemouth.
Paul Andrew Armstrong, 60, has been charged following a fire at Foodelicious in Wimborne Road, Moordown on Monday, July 29.
The Bournemouth resident, of Pine Road, has been charged with criminal damage – recklessly endangering life following his arrest.
He has also been charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place, stalking involving fear of violence, burglary other than dwelling - attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm and burglary other than dwelling - theft.
His first court appearance was at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 1 and he is due to appear before the judge at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, August 29.
Police officers cordoned off the cafe following the blaze while crime scene investigators forensically examined inside the cafe.
Seven fire engines were called to the fire that started at about 1.20am and is understood not to have injured anybody.
Posting on social media, the cafe said it is “until further notice due to the fire”.
