A HUGE fight involving teenagers broke out at Bournemouth seafront on Friday evening.

Multiple police officers were called to the mass altercation between a group of teenage girls close to the underpass at Pier Approach in the town centre at 8pm on July 19.

According to witnesses, a large group of people clashed with one another with footage and images from the scene show the crowd of mainly youths shouting and swearing.

Officers who were in the area rushed to the scene in an attempt to diffuse the situation, and other witnesses described up to 15 police cars and vans parked off Bath Road.

It was further reported that two men were involved in a fight

Dorset Police’s spokesman said one of their officers was assaulted in the brawl, but did not suffer any serious injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Southampton was issued with a caution for a public order offence and a 17-year-old boy was issued with a dispersal notice, requiring him to leave the area.

The spokesman said: “Officers who were already in the area and briefed to carry out proactive patrols immediately deployed to the scene.

“Officers remained in the area to provide a continued visible presence following the incident and to ensure there was no further breach of the peace.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

It’s understood the fight is a separate incident to the sexual assault of a teenage girl, which happened in the area of Bournemouth Pier just 15 minutes earlier.
