A MAN has been jailed for trying to board a plane with his domestic violence victim.

Andrew Phillips, 60, of Winding Way in Bemerton Heath, was stopped moments before he was due to fly from Bournemouth Airport on Sunday, April 28.

The 60-year-old was in the company of a woman he was prevented from having contact with by a domestic violence protection order made at Swindon Magistrates' Court just 12 days prior.

Phillips admitted the breach and was jailed for seven days at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, April 29, because of the seriousness of his disregard for court orders.

Detective inspector Tom Ellerby, from Wiltshire Police, said: "Domestic violence protection orders are designed to keep individuals safe, and breaching them is serious.

"Our priority is the safety and well-being of our community, and we will continue to enforce these orders to protect those at risk."
