Take a trip back in time and wander around the old Brunel Market.

Stalls filled part of the town centre on a regular basis for much of the 1980s and 1990s, with small business owners selling a variety of wares to crowds of customers.

People could pop in and buy clothes, meat, fruit and veg, books, sweets, gifts, and all manner of other bits and pieces.

After it closed, many Swindonians reminisced fondly about their visits, which kickstarted some attempts to bring the market back in some form.

There is an outdoor market organised by Cotswold Markets every Thursday and Saturday near the Fountain that connects Canal Walk, The Parade, Regent Street and Bridge Street.

A Makers’ Market will be held on the second Saturday of every month in the Brunel Shopping Centre's Plaza - the next fair will be held on Saturday, May, 11 from 9am to 3pm.
