TWO people were hurt in a crash which saw one of the busiest roads in the conurbation close during rush hour.

Three vehicles, including a grey VW Polo, red Mazda 323F and blue Ford Kuga, had crashed in Wallisdown Road, past Wallisdown Roundabout at Aldi, yesterday evening at around 6pm, January 25.

Emergency services raced to the scene and closed the road in both directions as paramedics treated two people, including a girl, 17 and a man in his 50s, and while recovery for the smashed vehicles was arranged.

Their injuries are believed to not be life-changing or life-threatening but they were taken to hospital, according to Dorset Police.

Meanwhile, the road closure on what is one of the busiest roads brought chaos to the surrounding area.

Morebus' services had to be diverted to Columbia Road, Bournemouth.

The road was reopened around an hour and a half later, at about 7.15pm.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 5.54pm of a three vehicle collision on Wallisdown Road.

"Officers attended, along with the ambulance service and road closures have been put in place.

"Two people are being treated by the ambulance service for injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening."
