A COLLECTION of whisky is valued to fetch up to £500 when it goes under the hammer next month – ready for Christmas.

The collection which includes a bottle of Macallan Rare Cask Black Whisky, with its original packaging, could range between £40 and £500.

The drinks and other products will go on offer at the Charterhouse auction of Christmas and luxury gifts in Sherborne on December 1.

Auctioneer Richard Bromwell said: “The market for wine, port and whisky remains strong, whether single bottles or cases.

“Quite whether it is bought to be enjoyed or put away for a rainy day we will never know.”

Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for their forthcoming specialist auctions with wine, port and whisky, designer goods, musical instruments, medals, stamps and toys in December and pictures, books and antiques in January along with decorative arts.
