THE air ambulance was scrambled following a crash in west Dorset.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) was called to North Street in Beaminster on the evening of Tuesday, August 15. 

Residents reported that the road was blocked for some time as emergency crews dealt with the incident. 

A spokesperson from DSAA said it was called to an incident reportedly involving a teenager who had been injured in a crash.

The casualty was taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester via land ambulance for further treatment.

The spokesperson said: "Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were tasked to an incident in Beaminster reported as a teenager who had been involved in a road traffic incident."

"Our team escorted the patient to Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester."
