SIX eateries across Bournemouth, Poole, Swanage and Upton have been handed new food hygiene ratings this week  

A Godfather Pizza in Bournemouth has been rated three by the Food Standards Agency and a Costa Coffee in Upton has also been rated this week. 

Each week, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) inspects businesses across the country, assessing hygiene and safety, structural compliance and confidence in management. 

Across the UK, every food outlet including convenience stores, restaurants, hospitals and care homes are given a hygiene rating.  

What each hygiene rating means:  

0 - Urgent improvement necessary   

1 - Major improvement necessary   

2 - Some improvement necessary   

3 - Hygiene standards generally satisfactory   

4 - Hygiene standards good   

5 - Hygiene standards very good   

Here is a roundup of scores given by the FSA this week:   

Rated 3:  

The Godfather Pizza, in Wimborne Road, Bournemouth was given a score of three on April 25. 

Eva's Café at the Dolphin Centre in Poole was given the score after assessment on April 21. 

Rated 4: 

Happy Palace in The Parade, Poole was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 25.  

Rated 5: 

Rainbow Kebab in High Street, Swanage was rated on April 26. 

The Fish Plaice in The Square, Swanage was rated on April 26. 

Costa Coffee in Dorchester Road, Upton was rated on May 9.
