A PHARMACY in Christchurch has announced an official date for its closure.
The Lloyds Pharmacy branch in Sainsbury’s Christchurch will be closing on Monday, March 13.
It is one of 237 branches set to close as the pharmacy withdraws its services from Sainsbury’s supermarkets in response to “changing market conditions”.
A spokesperson for Lloyds Pharmacy said: “The Lloyds Pharmacy branch in Sainsbury’s Christchurch will be closing on 13th March 2023 when the lease with Sainsbury’s will expire.”
“We understand our patients and customers may have questions about how this will affect them. Patients are being advised to go online to the NHS website here or use the NHS App for information on how they can nominate an alternative pharmacy.”
“In the meantime, our team is working hard to ensure we provide a smooth transition for the local community over the coming weeks. We would like to thank them for their continued support during this change.”
The closure of in-store pharmacies was announced by Lloyds Pharmacy at the beginning of 2023.
The pharmacy chain said it has cut the services following a strategic review in response to “changing market conditions”.
LloydsPharmacy added that it is “exploring options” for each branch individual and will confirm exact closure plans on a “branch-by-branch” basis but expects to complete the process over the course of 2023.
It stressed that it is working with all colleagues impacted by the announcement but did not disclose how many workers would be affected.
