A NEW coach holiday business involving a Bournemouth company will offer trips around the UK and Europe from this year.

Touromo brings together seven coach businesses operating under the National Express group, including Bournemouth-based Solent Tours.

It offers “high quality short breaks and special interest day trips” across the UK and Europe.

Helen Smyth, head of leisure at Touromo, said: “It’s an exciting time for everyone at Touromo. Our day trips and holidays continue to be operated by the local team who have always looked after our customers so well, yet with the backing of a trusted and experienced leisure travel provider.

“We offer a wide range of tours from Dorset and know there is a strong demand for holidays and day trips from the region. Customers are looking for more choice in the way they travel but don’t want to compromise on quality or comfort. We believe we offer just that and can’t wait to welcome existing and new guests on-board in the coming months.”

New vehicles and drivers will be on the road this month, the company said.

The company said: “With hundreds of short breaks and day trips departing from across the Midlands and South of England, each Touromo holiday is carefully designed by a team of travel experts with convenience and complete relaxation in mind.”

Door-to-door pick up will be available on holiday bookings from selected areas.

The other companies involved with Touromo are Hampshire-based Lucketts Travel, Woods Tours, Stewarts Tours, Coliseum Coaches, Mortons Travel and Worthing Coaches.

The company says significant investment has been made to present the new brand, with a multi-channel marketing campaign, new vehicles and driver uniforms, and a new website offering online booking.

Sample holidays include a 10-day European tour called Tuscany Treasures and Treats, departing June 9 and costing £1,289 per person, based on two people sharing.

Day trips include the Orchid festival at Kew Gardens, from £41; Isle of Wight Drive and Donkey Sanctuary from £33, and Tower of London from £42.

Pick-up points for day trips will include Bournemouth railway station, Castlepoint, Bear Cross, Kinson, West Moors, St Leonards and St Ives, with feeder coaches from St Catherine’s Hill, Bargates, Purewell, Highcliffe, New Milton and Ringwood.

Home pick-up for holidays will be available in areas including Bournemouth, Christchurch, Ferndown and Weymouth.
