THE owners of an Indian eatery in Poole have announced they will be closing down the restaurant part of the business next month.

Mint in Station Road, Ashley Cross, will continue to provide a takeaway service but its dine in offering will cease on Tuesday, January 10.

In a post on social media, the venue said it would be providing takeaways along with other restaurant brands.

The restaurant had seen a “big decrease” in custom over the past year but it was still a “tough decision”.

“This is a new exciting journey for us and others and we will be solely focusing on our takeaways and taking it to the next level,” a spokesperson for Mint said.

“We would like to thank Hive Kitchens and congratulate them in their new venture along with us in Ashley Cross to come in the new year.

“As everyone is aware the hospitality industry has taken a huge hit and we have seen a big decrease in custom inside our restaurant.

“This has been going on for the last year and it is getting harder for us to survive. We have had to make this tough decision after months of thinking through.

“We are truly grateful for all our amazing customers who have supported us throughout all the years and would like to thank everyone for all the endless support that was given to us. It has been quite a journey for the last 10 years, we have forged fantastic friendships, lots of laughs and occasional tears but it’s been a blast.”

From January 1 until January 10, the restaurant is offering 30 per cent off the total bill for people who dine in.
