IT'S the week before Christmas, so it must be that time again – fabulous dance routines, a whole lot of sequins... No, it's not the Strictly final, but this year's run of the annual Christmas Spectacular.

It's the 11th year the Glad Rags Production Company has staged the festive, feel-good show and it just gets better with age.

From the uplifting opening number, and the minute the rainbow bright elves spring onto the stage, the scene is set for two hours of fun, laughter and a little bit of magic for all the family to enjoy.

High energy and utterly professional from start to finish, it has everything you could wish for from a Christmas show.

This year's story focuses on run up to the big day, with mysterious ice patches appearing around Christmas Town. When an important team member goes missing, Santa must leave the workshop, but something frosty is afoot. and it's up to the elves to save Christmas.

Bella Kane shone as Joy, expertly belting out all the big numbers, while Edward Brennan was full of fun as the mischievous Squash. Albey Brookes had just the right amount of swagger as Alabaster, perfectly paired with the brilliant Kim Holder as Ivy.

Adam Myers made for a lovable Santa, and Lydia Shaw was full of energy, with another great voice, as Merry.

All backed up by a superb ensemble of talented dancers, and adorable little elves, with slick choreography and a host of stunning costumes – all created in-house.

The score is full of festive tunes including the annual favourite, If I Were Not On Santa's Team, and I just loved the clever nod to Chicago.

This is simply the Christmas-iest show that ever Christmas-ed – you're guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face.
