Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision at Goulds Hill following a single vehicle collision.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the B3159 between Upwey and Martinstown and road closures are in place.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area if possible and Goulds Hill is closed both ways.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We received a report at 2.25pm of a single vehicle collision on the B3159 at Goulds Hill between Upwey and Martinstown.
"Officers have attended, along with the fire and ambulance services, and road closures have been put in place.
"We do not have any further information at this time.
"We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding."
Two fire crews from Dorchester and a crew from Weymouth are dealing with the incident.
"This road will be closed for some time so please avoid the area and find alternative routes," Dorchester Fire Station added.
The traffic monitoring service Inrix says that traffic is 'coping well'.
