A DRIVER has sustained serious injuries following a crash on the A35 in Poole.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the two-carcollision involving a Ford Fiesta and a Volvo in Upton Road on Thursday morning.

The driver of the Ford sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed by police while recovery of the vehicles was arranged.

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the scene and one casualty was taken to Poole Hospital by land ambulance.

A Dorset Traffic Cops spokesperson said: “Whilst at the scene there were two further collisions on the A350 Upton Bypass caused by people braking unnecessarily due to rubber necking at all the emergency services dealing with the first collision.

“Pay attention to the road ahead.”
