A MAN was arrested after a crash which left a motorcyclist seriously injured in Bournemouth.

The crash involving a silver Citroen C2 and a grey Honda motorcycle occurred in Christchurch Road at the junction of Queensland Road in Pokesdown at 10.37pm on Tuesday, October 4.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s living in Bournemouth, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Citroen, a local man aged in his 40s, was uninjured.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling along that section of Christchurch Road at the relevant time and either witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also like to ask anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please contact us.”
