Drivers were caught in heavy delays on the A338 following a crash on the Cooper Dean roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the A3060 Castle Lane East westbound on Wednesday afternoon which was partially blocked due to the crash on the roundabout.

The incident was understood to have involved more than one vehicle.

Traffic built towards the Castlepoint Shopping Centre. Morebus also reported delays to several of its services.

Two ambulances were on the scene along with several officers from Dorset Police.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 16.13hrs to an incident in Bournemouth. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and are currently on scene.”

A Dorset Police said: “We were called at 4.18pm on Wednesday October 5 to reports of an injury collision on the A338 at the Cooper Dean roundabout in Bournemouth.

“Closures are in place and traffic is being diverted to Castle Lane West.

“One man has sustained injuries and is going to hospital. No more information available at this time.”
