FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a two-year-old male horse who became trapped in a horse box on his way to his new home.
Verwood Fire Station was called to assist Prince escape a horse box he had become trapped in on Friday, September 30.
The successful rescue efforts meant the horse was "uninjured" and is now "enjoying his new home".
A spokesperson from Verwood Fire Station said: "Verwood were mobilised to a large animal rescue this afternoon outside Tesco Express.
"It transpires the large animal was Prince, a two-year old male horse, who became trapped in a horse box on his way to his new home.
"The crew worked with a local vet to give Prince a mild sedative to keep him calm during the rescue. Prince was released after the crew used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the bar that Prince had jumped over.
"We are pleased to report that Prince was uninjured during the rescue and is now hopefully enjoying his new home. #notjustfires"
