A HIGH street bank branch will close for just over a month for extensive refurbishment works.

The Lloyds bank branch in Poole High Street will close temporarily from 2pm on Monday, September 5, for a variety of internal and external alterations to be made.

Currently occupying the ground floor of 101 High Street, the existing Lloyds branch is to welcome new back of house facilities, including new toilets, a staff room and kitchen for the retail branch staff.

This is proposed in order to make the branch independent of the first floor which is to become Branch Community Office for Lloyds, consisting of an open plan space accommodating more than 60 staff members being relocated to this new office.

Additionally, two of the front external ATMs are to be removed – leaving just one remaining.

It is planned for the branch to reopen on Thursday, October 6, and a notice has been placed on the door making customers aware of this.

A Lloyds Bank spokesperson said: “We're refurbishing our Poole branch both inside and out, which means it will be closed for a short while. The branch will reopen on October 6 and, in the meantime, customers can use our Parkstone or Broadstone branches alongside other ways to bank including the Post Office, telephone, mobile and online banking.”
