SPLASHDOWN has reopened today following successful repairs to a “major mechanical failure” yesterday.

The popular water park at Tower Park in Poole was closed all day on Wednesday due to the “unforeseen” mechanical issue.

Customers were urged not to travel to the attraction while repairs were urgently carried out.

Giving an update on Thursday morning, a spokesperson said: “We are delighted to say that the overnight repair has been successful, please attend as scheduled for your session at Splashdown.”

The spokesperson added: “Thank you for bearing with us, we do appreciate it.”

Splashdown kept customers updated on its social media page on Wednesday and also contacted them to make them aware of the closure with refunds being processed for more than 400 tickets.
