REPAIRS to a popular seafront restaurant in Bournemouth are being finalised after ten months of closure.

Hot Rocks are preparing to open their doors for the first time since a fire stormed their building in October last year.

As reported, the blaze broke out in a sign at the front of the restaurant, before spreading to a roof space.

Hot Rocks has been closed for repairs since the incident, but staff have now revealed plans for a gradual opening.

They wrote on Facebook: “After over 10 months of waiting, the new turquoise roof tiles are finally in place, the roof works completed and the scaffolding down at last. Over the next few weeks the roof and window frames will be chemically cleaned and the building painted.

“We will then start a gradual opening of our ground floor areas, starting with our terrace. Unfortunately we will only be able to offer our woodfired pizza menu until we can recruit and train a new kitchen and front of house team. We have also had to suspend all bookings for the Summer season.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding over the last 10 months since the fire and we so look forward to seeing you all again soon."
