Bournemouth's newest bar has opened in a former Post Office building in the town centre.

From the people behind Aruba, the stylish new bar has taken on the former Pizza Express building in Post Office Road.

The new bar is a Bier Haus built on "Bohemian spirit", inspired by European adventures through Alpine regions.

The four directors, Andy Price, Benjamin Reynolds, Matt Piovan and Chris May have spent two years breathing a new lease of life into this iconic building.

Benjamin-Banks Reynolds said: "Post has a unique decor, live music, entertainment, and mouth-watering menus.

"The space will be transformed through the seasons, as patrons are immersed in moving themes; from botanical flora summers to the infamous Oktoberfest celebrations, and into cosy alpine winters.

"Post’s interior design has been created and delivered by one of the UK’s leading interior architects, who has matched the beauty of this building’s exterior by the new interior, fit with elaborate ceilings, comfy booths, long benches, lively decoration, a big stage and a beautiful statement bar.

Bournemouth Echo:

"Guests will dine and drink on long communal benches, giving it that Bavarian food hall feel, enjoying the tastes of authentic alpine dishes including, bratwursts, meatballs, pretzels, pan-fried schnitzels and stein burgers, with sides of sauerkraut and more."

Drinks on offer include over 20 beers and a selection of 20 speciality cocktails.

Post will also host weekly live entertainment.

Benjamin added: “Our job as operators is always to be reviewing the market and looking to the future and what’s coming next.

"We hope to build a real community and a place where anyone, of any age, can come and feel comfortable, enjoy quality products and have a good time. It’s non-pretentious good fun.”

It was announced in September 2020 that the Pizza Express branch would be closing its doors.
