BUDGET supermarket Lidl is to change the way its customers park their cars at one of its Bournemouth stores.
Lidl in Winton will ask customers to validate parking with their receipt at the end of their shop.
Customers can still park cars for 90 minutes free of charge whilst they shop, but the new system is in place so “there’s always a space for customers to park in”.
A spokesperson for Lidl said: “We haven’t introduced any charges to the car park at our Winton store. We have a new validation system.
“This simply requires the customer to validate their parking with their receipt at the end of their shop.
“It’s designed to ensure availability of parking spaces for customers and is quite common across the industry (including at a number of our other stores) where the locations are in busy areas.
“For complete clarity, customers still have 90 minutes free parking as they always have done, just with the added benefit of the new validation system which will help to ensure that there’s always a space for them to park in.”
The car park at Lidl Winton often gets busy and on the odd occasion cars have had to park in nearby streets.
