Leaflets purporting to be from a national group of far-right extremists have been posted through residents' doors in Boscombe.

The leaflets claiming to be from group Patriotic Alternative have been posted through letterboxes in Boscombe between August 4-5.

The leaflets are a mixture of anti-migrant and anti-vaccination sentiments and call for an end to immigration.

One resident described the leaflets as disgusting.

She said: “I saw it this morning, I was just disgusted. I don't want that in my door, especially because Boscombe is a multicultural place so my neighbours would have got it through their door and that's really offensive.

“I don’t think it’s true anyway. We had something a few months ago that was quite nasty as well, I just object to it because it's horrible."

An investigation by the Hope Not Hate group has found that many of Patriotic Alternative's leaders are ex-BNP members who have expressed extreme far-right and racist views.

Speaking about the leaflets a spokesperson from Hope Not Hate said: “While Patriotic Alternative can correctly be described as Britain's most active fascist group, they remain a fringe group whose views are repugnant to the overwhelming majority of the UK population.

"As such, they're desperate to raise their profile with leafleting and publicity stunts while concealing the true depths of their extremism from the public.

“This is a band of Holocaust deniers, neo-Nazis and other fascists, motivated by a hatred of Jews and other minoritised groups.

“For example, the group’s leader has described Hitler as a “simple, humble painter”, has repeatedly recommended Mein Kampf to his audience and hosts a show with a former Ku Klux Klan leader.

"Residents should be quick to bin any material posted through their doors by this dangerous and toxic group."

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We would encourage anyone who has concerns about hate crime in their community to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101.”
