ANOTHER heatwave could be on the cards next week with a yellow heath-health alert issued ahead of soaring temperatures.

Bournemouth-based weather expert Bournemouth & Poole Weather said the mercury could peak above 30C in some places.

Bournemouth & Poole Weather said: “Here we go again. Early warning of hot weather next week. While nationally absolute max temps won’t be like July’s heatwave we could 6-7 days of 30C plus.

"With an easterly can see it getting pretty hot along the south coast.”

A yellow heat-health alert has been issued with a 60 per cent chance of heatwave conditions in the south west between 12pm on Tuesday, August 9 and 9am on Friday, August 12.

The warning reads: “Fine, dry and largely sunny weather across the south of England over the weekend will extend northwards into the start of next week.

“As this happens, temperatures are expected to steadily rise, becoming warm or very warm across much of the country and potentially hot across the central southern England. It is likely that the trigger alert criteria will be reached in this area from Tuesday, with a moderate risk elsewhere.

"The hot weather could continue, but this will be reviewed next week.”

According to the Met Office, highs of around 27C are expected for Bournemouth by Thursday. 

Last month temperatures of around 35C were recorded in Dorset during what was Britain’s hottest day ever. Â
