PREMIER League football is back in Bournemouth and one pub is celebrating this with an epic shirt giveaway.

The Broadway in Castle Lane West has been granted ‘Premier Pub’ status by Greene King to mark the Cherries’ return to the big time ahead of a charity fundraiser.

The first 50 fans to order a drink at The Broadway on Saturday, August 6, and donate an amount of their choice to Macmillan Cancer Support will receive a new AFC Bournemouth home shirt for free.

All the money raised will help the charity continue to provide vital care and support for people living with cancer.

The boozer will be decked out in the team’s signature red and black colours to mark the start of the season. It will also be unveiling a plaque signifying the new Premier Pub status.

Chris Conchie, head of marketing for Greene King Sport added: “Football is something that sparks excitement and passion across the UK and being able to celebrate the start of the new season with such a popular Bournemouth pub is fantastic.”

The Cherries kick off their Premier League campaign at the Vitality Stadium against Aston Villa on Saturday at 3pm. Live updates from the game can be viewed on the Bournemouth Daily Echo website.
