WITH all the beautiful weather lately, the weekends have a tendency to blend into one another but for thirty thousand people this was not going to be a normal weekend because this is Camp Bestival weekend.
Over the four days the weather was glorious, so I spent my time out and about photographing different acts and chatting to people who all seem to have come for a thousand different reasons but with the same intent, to have the best weekend of the year.
I met people who had come to see specific bands, some for the great variety of events put on for the kids, one couple were getting married, and another lady who found a request to get married that her boyfriend had incorporated into the festival schedule of events that she had been wearing over the weekend.
Something of this scale does not just happen so huge credit must go out to Rob and Josie da Bank and everyone on their huge team from the security, first aiders and all the countless others who work so tirelessly every year to make this special festival what it is.
The children's entertainment highlights included the ever-popular Mr Tumble who drew an impressive crowd early on the Saturday who then stayed for the equally spectacular and noisy Brainiac: Science Abuse who put on a great show for kids and adults alike that could probably be heard all over the site and beyond.
My favourite band of the festival will no doubt be Shed Seven, who are always immense, closely followed by Rudimental, while my festival discovery has been Snapped Ankles, who played the Saturday night in the big top and were a real treat.
There was so much other stuff going on it would be impossible to name them all, but a special mention must go to the successful world record disco dance attempt on the Saturday afternoon.
A huge crowd watched the more than 500 dancers performing a pre-set routine in front of the Guinness judges, who were joined by Rob da Bank and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
The event took place under the giant disco ball that I remember being the subject of its own successful world record bid a few years ago.
What a great weekend this has been with something for everyone of all ages. Long may it continue.
