POOLE Harbour Festival at Baiter Park is returning this weekend with organisers expecting the biggest crowds in its six-year history.

Last year more than 13,000 made the most of the family-friendly live music event and Poole Harbour Festival is ready for even more to turn out this weekend to see more than 40 acts on four stages.

Who can you see?

Running from Friday until Sunday, Poole Harbour Festival has lined up headliners including 90s hitmakers Republica and K-Klass, we well as 21st century pop-rock stars Scouting For Girls and Bristol dance music fusionists Dr Meaker.

There's also a host of top DJs, including a reunion of the legendary Manor DJs, and stellar tributes to the likes of Elton John, Queen, Foo Fighters, Muse, Oasis and Meat Loaf.

What is happening?

There's free children's entertainment all weekend with the amazing Rent A Dinosaur, alongside Jamie Jambo, Krazy Kev (Friday, Sunday), Mad 4 Animals (Saturday) and Jules the Entertainer (Saturday), not forgetting street performers and the popular circus skills workshops.

When is it open?

Poole Harbour Festival opens at 5pm on Friday, noon on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, closing at 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.

What is the weather forecast?

Weather forecasters predict sunny intervals and a moderate breeze with temperatures no higher than 23°C this weekend.

Festival director Ben Dyas said: “This summer there's a real appetite for getting and about and having fun in the sun. Now we know everything's cool with the weather and there are no worries with the extreme heat as can relax a little and do all we can to make sure everyone has a great weekend. Bring it on.”
