THOUSANDS of people flocked to Sandbanks at the weekend for one of the area’s biggest beach festivals.

Sandfest saw around 5,000 revellers entertained by headliners Clean Bandit on Sunday.

The band, whose breakthrough success came in 2014 with the single ‘Rather Be’, feat. Jess Glynne, who are renowned for their live sets.

Other acts included in the line-up include Jax Jones, Shy FX, Tom Zanetti and Wes Nelson.

Dance acts Karen Harding and Sweet Female Attitude also appeared.

The mega beach party also featured bars and food.

Previous acts who have played the event include Faithless, Idris Elba, Tinie Tempah and Chase and Status.

Last year’s Sandfest was due to take place in July but had to be postponed due to coronavirus restrictions, taking place in September instead.

The event is due to return on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
