TWO TEENAGERS have been arrested for "being concerned in the supply of drugs".

An 18 year old and a 17 year old, both male, were arrested in Blandford yesterday following a combined effort from Neighbourhood Policing Teams.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said it was part of a continued crackdown on disrupting drugs supply. They said: "This is part of Operation Viper and our continued commitment to tackling drug use and protecting communities. Please help us to keep your communities safe, if you have any information relating to county lines drug dealing please contact us on 101"

The arrests come in the same week that the second phase of Operation Scorpion is launched.

Operation Scorpion, a regional approach to tackling drug supplies in the South West, saw over £400,000 worth of suspected drugs seized in just a single month.

Dorset Police work in collaboration with Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire police forces to provide a cohesive drugs strategy across the south west.

David Sidwick, Dorset’s Police and Crime Commissioner, said the collaborative approach ensured "a hostile environment for drugs".

He said: "Operation Scorpion really is a fantastic showcase for what can be done when everyone wants to work together. All five police forces in the South West region, alongside their respective Police and Crime Commissioners, the British Transport Police, South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SW ROCU) and the charity Crimestoppers will combine resources to tackle drug supply in the region and make the South West a hostile environment for drugs.”
