A MAN has been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault in Boscombe.

Dorset Police launched an investigation after a 67-year-old local man was reportedly assaulted by another man in Christchurch Road shortly before 10pm on Thursday, June 30.

The injured man remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

It was reported that another man was assaulted and sustained a fracture, cuts and bruising, while it was also alleged that a woman was pushed to the ground.

Providing an update on Sunday, July 3, a Dorset Police spokeswoman said a 31-year-old man from Bournemouth had been charged with assault by beating and two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 4.
