MOTORISTS are set to face delays for the next 10 days as roadworks take place in one of the busiest parts of Christchurch.

Two-way temporary traffic lights are in place in Somerford Road as BCP Council contractors carry out the work.

The roadworks began on Thursday, June 28, and residents have already reported delays in the area.

The traffic lights are located in the area of Somerford Road between The Somerford Beefeater and Meteor Retail Park.

Bournemouth Echo:

BCP Council is understood to be carrying out the work to excavate across the road so a new foul drain connection can be installed with Wessex Water’s adopted sewer.

The roadworks are currently expected to finish on Tuesday, July 12.

Part of the work will coincide with two-way traffic lights on the A35 Lyndhurst Road between Roeshot Hill and Hinton Admiral.

Hampshire County Council is carrying out highway improvements described as “night coring works” from July 9 to July 10.
